Client: MAISON KITSUNÉ

(Excerpt taken from Wikipedia) Kitsuné is a French Electronic Music record label and fashion label and created in 2002 by Gildas Loaëc, Masaya Kuroki and the London-based company Abake.

Project brief:

I worked with the team at Kitsune to decide on a visual direction for the assets. Inspired by the acid house movement and combining a variety of modern digital techniques, I was taken to Paris to Direct and capture the content to then construct the assets myself. Video direction, movement direction, videography, edit, grading, retouching and animation by me.

I worked with the team at Kitsune to decide on a visual direction for the assets. Inspired by the acid house movement and combining a variety of modern digital techniques, I was taken to Paris to Direct and capture the content to then construct the assets myself. Video direction, movement direction, videography, edit, grading, retouching and animation by me.

Process

1) Create treatment containing moodboard with poses and visual effects 2) moodboard is approved 3) plan equipment list needed for the shoot 4) travel to Paris and communicate with the set designer about how I envisaged the film coming together 5) shoot and direct models 6) finish shoot and return to London 7) upload photos and make a selection 8) upload videos and start cutting appropriate scenes 9) Get separate assets ready for each animated piece 10)  apply “Living Photo” technique to selected images and export 11) cut film to the soundtrack and create transitions 12) deliver first draft 13) receive feedback, make changes and deliver second draft. 14) project signed off.

RESULT

The client was very pleased with the creativity shown within these animations and how they all came together. The feedback was mainly preference such as changing of certain fonts and poses etc. The visual assets were promoted across all of Kitsunè’s social media channels, crediting me in each post.
