(Excerpt taken from Wikipedia) Joseph is a fashion brand and retail chain that was established in London by Moroccan entrepreneur Joseph Ettedgui and his family in 1972 The Joseph brand grew from a small shop attached to a hairdressing salon in King's Road, Chelsea, owned by Casablanca-born Joseph Ettedgui and his brothers Maurice and Franklin, to more than 20 London stores, with eight additional outlets in New York City and Paris plus stores in Leeds and Manchester.

Project brief:

I had been briefed by the Joseph team to come up with a visual concept surrounding their Autumn Winter 2018 men’s collection.

My involvement:

I had pitched a few ideas to the Joseph team, and they had landed on an abstract/ still life photography concept, pairing beautiful antique furniture with some of the garments from the collection and photographing the combinations in a range of unorthodox locations. I sourced the locations, the antique furniture, the team of assistants, art directed and shot the images.

Process

1) Choose items to shoot 2) Research and source furniture pieces 3) Arrange collection of furniture 4) Set days to shoot pieces 5) Arrange assistants 6) Receive Joseph items 7) Arrive at pre-selected locations 8) compose garments on the chairs and shoot them 9) upload and send to client for selection 10) client sends selection through to edit 11) Sent to retoucher to help clean up elements of the selected images 12) sent final selection to client 13) delivered and sent to client.

RESULT

The client was very pleased with the creativity shown within these animations and how they all came together. The feedback was mainly preference such as changing of certain fonts and poses etc. The visual assets were promoted across all of Kitsunè’s social media channels, crediting me in each post.

RESULT

The Joseph team had used all of the images on their social media, and had reported the performance of the images were amongst the highest of the menswear images that they had posted. Joseph also created an editorial on the project, which sits permanently on the website.
